Purbeck Film Festival
We are thrilled to be collaborating with the 2026 Purbeck Film Festival.
We are thrilled to have teamed up as a host for the Purbeck Film Festival again this autumn for their 30th Year. On Friday 30th October 2026, we'll be showing a screening of The Magic Faraway Tree in our Garden Room starring the hugely talented Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy. Introduce your children to the spellbinding world of Enid Blyton with this modern take on her vivid and bewitching tale. Her series about the gargantuan tree that leads to a magical land was clearly an influence on the Narnia stories, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. The cream of British talent (also including Jennifer Saunders, Rebecca Ferguson, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, Simon Russell Beale) and some delightful costumes and effects help bring the story up to date - to find the magic of the tree, the young heroes must put down their smartphones!
For those of you who don't know, Enid Blyton frequented Knoll House Hotel during the 1950s and 1960s and would always request to say in Room 40 with a spectacular seaview along with table three at dinner. It is thought that some of her characters were based on people within the Studland area as she spent many weeks at a time writing here - therefore this is the perfect film choice for our venue.
We'll be serving popcorn, snacks and drinks throughout the film and you can also book a pre-film dinner in the restaurant where we are offering 2 courses for £25 from our set menu. Call the hotel now on 01929 450450 to reserve a table to make a whole night of it.
Tickets for the film are £8 for adults and £6 for children/students, the film is rated 12A and will start at 7pm prompt. You will need to book tickets in advance below.
