The walk will be led by Hamish Murray, our Purbeck Conservation Officer and Sally Cooper.

Rates from £159

Call 01929 450450 to book.

The walk is over heathland, so there is likely to be muddy and uneven ground. We recommend you wear walking boots, as they will provide you with good ankle support and make the going more comfortable. If you don’t have them available, wellingtons are the next best.

Meeting you all outside the main reception at 09.40 for welcome and a short talk about the walk and the wildlife we hope to help you see and photograph.  As there is prickly gorse and there may be ticks on the heath, I recommend long trousers, tucked into your boots. Wear layers on your top half, so you can keep yourself comfortable whatever the weather(a waterproof jacket and trousers will be helpful if rain is in the forecast for the morning).

As we’ll be out for up to two hours, please bring a filled, reusable water bottle with you, hydration is important as it will get very warm if we’re blessed with bright sunshine (so sunscreen is also worth applying before we set off).

Also to state the obvious (forgive us) don’t forget your cameras and binoculars.
